* Zappa (2020)… Frank Zappa, Steve Vai, Pamela Del Barres, Gail Zappa, Ian Underwood, Ruth underwood, Mike Keneally, Ray White, Bunk Gardner, David Harrington, Scott Thunes. The film details the life and music of Frank Zappa. From the Zappa website: “With unfettered access to the Zappa family trust and all archival footage, ZAPPA explores the private life behind the mammoth musical career that never shied away from the political turbulence of its time. Alex Winter’s assembly features appearances by Frank’s widow Gail Zappa and several of Frank’s musical collaborators including Mike Keneally, Ian Underwood, Steve Vai, Pamela Des Barres, Bunk Gardner, David Harrington, Scott Thunes, Ruth Underwood, Ray White and others.”
* Midas Man (2021)… Jacob Fortune-Lloyd. Biography of Beatles manager Brian Epstein. He also worked with Gerry and the Pacemakers, Cilla Black and Billy J Kramer and The Dakotas. He died of an accidental drug overdose in 1967 at the age of 32. Filmed at Twickenham Studios (in the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames) and on location in London, Liverpool and America. The first two Beatles films were made at Twickenham A Hard Day's Night (1964) and Help! (1965), as well as their promotional film for Hey Jude (1968) and Let It Be (1970).
* Elvis (2022)… Austin Butler, Tom Hanks, Olivia DeJong. The film follows the life and early career of Elvis Presley. Hanks stars as Colonel Tom Parker, Elvis’ long-time manager.
* The Beatles: Get Back (2021)… Recently released and digitally enhanced footage of the making of the Beatles' 1970 album Let It Be, including the entire 42-minute rooftop concert. Some of it was originally released in Michael Lindsay-Hogg's 1970 documentary of the album that showed some of the discord among band members. This version is a bit more upbeat. A three-part documentary series on Disney+ directed and produced by Peter Jackson.
